Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior CAD Designer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will assist in the creation and modification of engineering designs, ensuring adherence to industry standards and project specifications. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in mechanical design principles and be familiar with various CAD software tools.
Duties
- Create and update detail sets for products and installation procedures.
- Draft and build detailed 2D and 3D models using CAD software such as Revit or AutoCAD.
- Utilize software to assemble components into complete designs, ensuring proper fit and function.
- Apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles to ensure accuracy in design specifications.
- Collaborate with engineers and other team members to develop mechanical designs that meet project requirements.
- Review and modify existing designs to improve functionality or manufacturability while adhering to codes and standards.
- Utilize Revit for architectural design tasks when necessary, integrating mechanical components into building systems.
- Produce highly detailed project packages in Revit.
- Participate in design reviews and provide input on design improvements or changes.
Qualifications
- 1 to 2 years experience in CAD or equivalent education.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Suite - AutoCAD and Revit are essential.
- Familiarity with mechanical design principles and practices is required.
- Understanding of GD&T standards is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- A degree or coursework in Mechanical Engineering, Design Technology, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
