What are the responsibilities and job description for the CAD Technician position at Dahmes Stainless, Inc?
Role Overview: CAD technicians use computer software to create 2D process and instrumentation diagrams, as well as 3D equipment layouts or general arrangements. In addition, this role takes direction from the Engineering Technician to support engineering and sales teams.
Main Responsibilities:
- Create and modify 3D General Arrangements
- Assist with development of P&IDs, Hole & Load Drawings, Equipment Specifications, and Tag Lists
- Assist with 2D Wiring Diagrams as needed
- Understand and maintain P&ID standards and keys
- Support controls team with panel layouts
Required Skills:
- AutoCAD, AutoDesk Inventor, SolidWorks, and/or related CAD skills
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to climb stairs and work on ladders/lifts
- Ability to work with various tools and instruments
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
- Must be eligible to work in the USA and travel internationally
Preferred Competency/Experience/Education:
- AAS Degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Drafting, Design, Engineering Technology, and/or related program
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Revit experience
- Autodesk Vault experience
