Overview:
The Manager of Automated Handling & Storage directs the Automated Handling & Storage team. Responsible
for strategy and operations to assure availability, functionality, safety, and integration of systems in a fast
growing environment. Establishes and accomplishes business objectives.
Responsibilities:
1) Directs the Automated Handling & Storage Department, including but not limited to setting department
budget, assigning projects to team members, conducting performance reviews, setting department
goals, training, mentoring, and coaching department members, and managing direct reports
2) Manages Project Engineering and Controls team, ensuring successful completion of all projects
3) Based on department backlog and staffing constraints, may perform typical project tasks along with
managerial duties, including creating approval, permit, installation, and fabrication drawings using
AutoCAD, obtaining material and product quotes from vendors and issuing purchase orders, and
monitoring the project schedule, engineering effort and material costs
4) Collaborates with other stakeholders to establish coherent /cohesive standards and processes
5) Resolves escalated technical problems; works directly with customers, including leadership, to address
issues and improve satisfaction
6) Travels for meetings and to job sites as required
Qualifications:
1) Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Controls Engineering or related field or equivalent experience
2) Minimum of 10 years of experience in the material handling industry
3) Experience managing complex projects and ressources
4) Strong leadership skills with ability to lead, manage, coach, and train all levels of employees
5) Strong knowledge of Wynright technology
6) Knowledge of budgets and accounting principles
7) Ability to deal with conflicts and employee issues in professional manner
8) Strong presentation skills; knowledge of training software such as PowerPoint
9) Proficient with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and after training, Wynright’s CRM tool
10) Ability to interface with internal and external customers, vendors and executive management
11) Excellent written and oral communication skills
12) Ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail and deadlines
13) Team-oriented and collaborative
14) Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
