What are the responsibilities and job description for the FAST PACK OPERATOR position at Daikin Comfort North America?
The Fast Pack Operator primarily uses the automated shrink-wrap machine to package and bundle products according to production and shipping schedules. The fast pack operator follows established procedures and guidelines in performing manual tasks to assist with production and warehouse operations as defined by safety quality and productivity parameters.
Position Responsibilities may include:
- Check and follow the daily production schedule while achieving quality, safety, on-time delivery, and cost savings goals.
- Use computerized system to set up machine according to product being shrink-wrapped.
- Stack and wrap bags of ducts into bundles.
- Maintain good housekeeping – clean, organized workstations.
- Follow all safety procedures and standards.
- Comply with Company policies and practices.
- Perform additional projects/duties to support ongoing business needs.

- Uses established procedures and works under supervision to perform assigned tasks.
- Work is closely supervised
Knowledge & Skills:
- Answers basic routine questions following pre-established guidelines.
- Mechanical aptitude
- Must be detailed oriented to ensure material is properly labeled.
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions, labels, etc.
- Good eye/hand coordination
- Ability to move, lift and bend on a regular basis.
- Good organizational and time management skills

Competency:
Experience:
- Warehouse/shipping/packing experience preferred
Education/Certification:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred

Physical Requirements / Work Environment:
- Must be able to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Manufacturing environment with forklift traffic.
- PPE required: steel toed safety shoes, safety glasses with side shields, and gloves.
- Job requires standing (up to 90%), walking (up to 10%), stooping or bending, reaching, twisting and turning.
- Lifting, carrying, and pushing up to 40 lbs.
- Hand Eye Coordination, handling tools and other objects (holding, grasping), repetitive wrist motion (flexion/rotation), and repetitive foot movements (Foot Pedals).
