What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician 3 (3rd shift) position at DAIKIN COMFORT TECHNOLOGIES MFG LP?
Position Responsibilities
May include;
- Repair, maintain, and rebuild all production equipment, including electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Coordinate maintenance processes with the production department in a way in which the production output and packaging is least affected.
- Respond to calls from production and management to make repairs.
- Perform established preventative maintenance programs.
- Assist with all aspects of new equipment installation.
- Assist management with scheduling maintenance projects.
- Maintain accurate and complete departmental records.
- Record all work in Fiix CMMS
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, construction drawings, machine manuals, electrical blueprints / schematics.
- Ensure all equipment adheres to all applicable safety requirements.
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain good 6S housekeeping standards.
- Work with contractors as needed.
- Perform additional projects/duties to support ongoing business needs
Nature of Scope
- Works under direct supervision and follows written/verbal instructions to accomplish assigned tasks.
- Independently performs assignments after given general instructions as to results expected.
- Resolves routine questions and problems, coordinates complex issues to others.
- Demonstrates an awareness of the relative urgency of tasks and responds accordingly.
Knowledge and Skills
- Read electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics (know symbols)
- Able to mentor and train Technicians 1 and 2
- In-depth knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Ability to understand relay logic
- Ability to Perform major electrical repairs
- Familiarity with the National Electrical Code
- Able to design and implement equipment improvements
- Able to Trouble shoot PLC systems to component level
- Able to Download or upload PLC programs
- Able to Change and program drives and HMI's
- Strong knowledge of Allen Bradley and Omron programs
- Able to select replacement parts for obsolete components
- able to make changes to programs when needed
- Able to perform PM's on all equipment
- Ability to write PM's
- Able to lead, critique, and improve Kaizens
- Able to champion, guide, and present 6s projects
- Participate in regular 6s activities
- Able and willing to correct PPE violations when seen and report continued violations to leads
- Ability to identify safety hazards and implement corrective actions.
- All prior knowledge and skills requirements for lower levels of technician.
Experience
- 5 years of experience in:
- Industrial maintenance
- Pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- DC drives, servos, solenoids, photo eyes, relays, limit switches and electric motors.
- PLC systems, preferably Allen Bradley, Siemens and Direct Logic.
- Industrial welding: repair as well as fabrication, M.I.G., T.I.G.
Education
- High school diploma or GED Equivalent
- Associates degree in electrical or mechanical field or graduation from a trade school, any certifications are a plus, preferred
