The Safety Ambassador plays a role for the Company’s Health & Safety objectives. The purpose is to improve the work environment while establishing a positive safety culture by identifying and correcting potential unsafe conditions, unsafe acts, processes, and ensuring employees are adhering to all H&S policies. The Safety Ambassador will also participate in EH&S policy and program development with more senior EH&S team members.
Position Responsibilies may include :
- Review recent incidents and emergency response actions.
- Review and participate in worksite inspections / audits and implement improvements if needed.
- Review results of occupational accidents and incidents resulting in injuries, illnesses or exposure or hazardous materials. Make suggestions to management for the prevention of future incidents.
- Recommend new safety policies and procedures.
- Ambassador shall review employee safety suggestions. Members shall submit recommendations to assist management in suggestion evaluation.
- Help Maintain 5S in assigned areas.
- Promote Health and Safety engagement campaigns.
- Support safety efforts of designated H&S leadership.
- Will be designated rescuer for Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) incidents.
- Will train and provide guidance for employees regarding any safety related matters.
- Perform additional duties as instructed.
