What are the responsibilities and job description for the Document Control Coordinator position at Dairy Farmers of America?
This position is responsible to provide leadership / direction for multiple levels of the organization to develop & implement facility quality systems to meet DFA, regulatory & customer requirements. This position works directly with all team members, management or hourly employees, to develop & maintain facility procedures, work instructions and forms. This position is responsible to assist in the development & coordination of the facilities Operational Risk Management, Change Management program, & Quality System s documentation. This position is responsible to provide GMP, Food Safety & HACCP training to all plant employees. This position ensures the quality systems documentation is audit & inspection ready.
- Duties and Responsibilities :
- Responsible to provide assistance with implementation and enforcement of corporate quality policies and procedures. Participates in the development and maintenance of the facility HACCP program.
- Responsible to ensure the facilities product recall program is effective & in compliance with DFA, FDA and customer requirements
- Responsible for quality assurance coordination & maintenance within the SAP inventory systems. Provides support with new product startup by implementing customer and R&D specifications & documentation
- Responsible for Document Control system & plant job binder reviews
- Participates in quarterly quality systems audit & monthly facility GMP & Food Safety audits
- Participates in Food Defense & Crisis Management Teams
- This position is responsible to provide support as needed to perform LACF record review, master batch distribution & finished product releases
- This position is responsible to perform project work as defined by the QA Manager
- Collect records for Thermal Process Deviation
- Compile, review, and file LACF records
- Entry of product hold information in the DFA quality system program
- Works with multiple departments to achieve documentation and training requirements
- Assists in development of new material for training on plant job functions
- Assists in plant audits of food safety systems such as but not limited to : SQF-HACCP-GMP
- Must follow all DFA GMP's & work in a manner consistent with all Corporate and regulatory, food safety, quality & sanitation requirements along with other duties as assigned

- Necessary knowledge, skills and abilities
Holding a certification from a certified FDA Better Process School would be a plus. If at time of hire, capable / able to obtain such FDA Better Processing School Certification
High School Diploma Required
College Degree preferred
3-5 years experience in a food manufacturing environment working with QA / Quality systems
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact well with people at multiple levels of the organization and or with external customers in business and technical fields
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and functions
Must be a self-starter, able to organize, prioritize as well as be able to work in a fast-paced environment
Must be confident and communicate well to present concepts and ideas to Operations team members
Must have strong problem-solving skills
Must have advanced computer skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Must be able to read, write and speak English
