What are the responsibilities and job description for the SANITATION TECH position at Dairy Farmers of America?
The Plant Sanitation Technician is responsible for plant sanitation working with Operations Technicians to accomplish overall cleanliness within the plant. Working with QA Lab Technician and Quality Assurance Supervisor on the master sanitation plan for the plant.
- Duties and Responsibilities :
- Ensure safe operations through adherence to Environmental, Health and Safety programs and procedures.
- Clean all drains- drain program (black color code only)
- Clean and sanitize all garbage cans
- Vacuum cleaner sanitation
- Must be able execute a master sanitation schedule.
- Solid understanding of HAACP program and the ability to assure the program is being followed.
- Participate in task meetings; suggest changes in work tasks and use of equipment to increase efficiencies.
- Function as an engaged team member and contribute to the sites continuous improvement efforts.
- Requirements
- Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities_
- Thorough understanding of MSDS sheets and how to interpret them.
- Solid mechanical aptitude to be able to disassemble equipment for cleaning, then reassemble properly.
- Ability to troubleshoot elementary mechanical and fluid problems when sanitation processes require intervention beyond normal cleaning.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and change priorities when conditions beyond ones control require immediate changes.
- Understand and follow written and oral instructions in the English language.
- Pay Range
- 19.00 - $23.00 / hour
