Job Title: Foundry Maintenance Supervisor
Location: Day County, South Dakota
Job Type: Full-Time, Monday–Friday (6:00 AM – 4:30 PM) with weekends as necessary
Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Foundry Maintenance Supervisor to lead and oversee maintenance operations in our foundry. This role requires expertise in mechanical and electrical maintenance, along with a strong understanding of welding and machining. The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership skills, ensuring the maintenance team operates efficiently while minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and perform mechanical and electrical maintenance on foundry equipment, ensuring optimal performance.
- Lead a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance, training, and supervision.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules to reduce equipment failures.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
- Perform welding, fabrication, and minor machining as needed for equipment repairs.
- Source, procure, and manage parts and materials required for maintenance projects.
- Maintain compliance with safety regulations and promote a culture of workplace safety.
- Collaborate with production teams to ensure minimal disruption to operations.
- Document maintenance activities and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Work flexible hours as necessary to complete projects and handle emergency repairs.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 5 years of maintenance experience in a foundry, manufacturing, or heavy industrial setting.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills (hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, and PLCs preferred).
- Proficiency in welding (MIG, TIG, Stick) and basic machining is a plus.
- Experience leading a team and managing maintenance projects.
- Ability to source, procure, and manage inventory of repair parts and materials.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, as needed.
