What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facility Worker position at Dakota State University?
Dakota State University is seeking applications for a full-time facility worker. Primary responsibilities include custodial care and minor maintenance of multiple buildings on campus as well as set-up/clean-up of events at Dakota Prairie Playhouse.
The position will be scheduled Monday through Friday, with an 8-hour workday and a flexible start time of either 7:00 a.m. or 8:00 a.m. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required.
Responsibilities:
- Floor care mainly vacuuming and mopping but could include scrubbing, waxing, and shampooing carpets.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms.
- Collect and remove trash from building.
- Dust and wash walls, woodwork, and windows.
- Remove snow from steps and sidewalks near buildings.
- Painting and moving furniture.
- Set-up and clean-up of campus events.
Successful candidate must be able to:
- Follow written and oral instructions.
- Operate required equipment.
- Work with students, staff, and the public courteously.
- Work independently.
- Lift 50 pounds.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (Sponsorship is not available for this position.)
