Position Overview
Dakota Woodlands seeks a compassionate, driven, and welcoming Client Services and Program Coordinator. The Client Services and Program Coordinator plays a vital role at Dakota Woodlands, working closely with the Director of Programs and Outreach to deliver effective client services and innovative programs that empower families experiencing homelessness. This position combines direct case management with program coordination to ensure families build resilience, access essential resources, and achieve long-term stability. The Client Services and Program Coordinator also represents the organization in community partnerships and advocacy efforts, reinforcing Dakota Woodlands’ mission and values.
Areas of Responsibility:
Program Coordination and Development:
- Collaborate with the Director of Programs and Outreach to plan, implement, and evaluate client-centered programs that strengthen and empower families.
- Develop and deliver innovative, evidence-based programs designed to foster resilience and long-term stability for families.
- Facilitate group activities and workshops to enhance client skills, knowledge, and self-sufficiency.
- Partner with external service providers to offer holistic support in employment, parenting, education, mental health, life skills, and other critical areas.
- Ensure all programs align with Dakota Woodlands’ mission and meet the needs of families experiencing homelessness.
Case Management and Client Support:
- Manage a caseload of clients, conducting intake assessments and creating personalized service plans.
- Provide day-to-day support, addressing immediate client needs and assisting with challenges.
- Help clients access resources, including housing, employment, healthcare, and other community services.
- Monitor client progress, maintain accurate case notes, and adjust service plans as needed.
- Advocate for clients, ensuring they overcome barriers and achieve stability.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with clients to foster a safe, supportive environment.
Collaboration and Representation:
- Work closely with the Director of Programs and Outreach to ensure programs align with organizational goals and priorities.
- Build and maintain relationships with local agencies, community partners, and stakeholders to coordinate services and share resources.
- Attend community meetings to represent Dakota Woodlands, advocate for client needs, and share resources.
- Develop and execute community education and awareness campaigns on homelessness and related issues.
- Represent Dakota Woodlands in public events and advocacy efforts, championing the needs of homeless families.
Compliance and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate, confidential client records in compliance with organizational policies and applicable regulations.
- Ensure all programs and services meet grant requirements and align with Dakota Woodlands’ mission.
- Assist with data collection, reporting, and program evaluation to support continuous improvement.
Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate with the Director of Programs and Outreach, staff, and volunteers to ensure a coordinated approach to client care and programming.
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
- Contribute to a positive team environment by sharing knowledge, experiences, and resources with colleagues.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, psychology, or a related field; or equivalent experience in social services.
- 3 years of experience in case management or related roles, preferably working with homeless or at-risk populations.
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and family dynamics.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Proficiency in using client management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Empathy, patience, and a commitment to empowering others.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Commitment to the mission and values of Dakota Woodlands.
Preferred:
- Experience developing and implementing programs for families in crisis.
- Bilingual abilities (Spanish or other languages spoken by client populations).
- Previous experience working in a shelter environment.
- Trauma-informed certification or training, with demonstrated application of these principles in program delivery and client interactions.
