A top Maryland Engineering firm seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their team. The successful candidate will be a fully competent Registered Professional Engineer who will be responsible for the application of conventional engineering aspects to the functional area of the assignment. This role will involve conceptualizing the initial design approach for major phases of large facilities projects, supervising project design and progress, and acting as a liaison between clients, agencies, subcontractors, and design teams.
Responsibilities
- Perform work involving the application of conventional aspects of engineering to the functional area of the assignment
- Conceptualize the initial design approach for major phases of large facilities projects
- Plan, schedule, conduct, or coordinate engineering work
- Supervise the design and ongoing progress of a project, including coordination with relevant authorities
- Serve as a liaison between clients, agencies, subcontractors, and design teams
- Review plans and prepare or review technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates
- Participate in contract bidding and administration; observe project action on site
- Supervise the work of less experienced engineers and/or technical support personnel
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineer Engineering
- Professional Engineering (PE) License
- Five to nine years of progressive experience
- Expertise in computer operation for engineering design programs (e.g., Revit MEP, AutoCAD) preferred
Day-to-day
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver high-quality engineering solutions
- Communicate effectively with clients, agencies, subcontractors, and design teams
- Manage project schedules and budgets while ensuring high-quality deliverables
- Mentor and supervise less experienced engineers and technical support personnel
- Act as a subject matter expert in electrical engineering for the organization's projects
