Senior Payroll Analyst - Telecommunications - Madison, AL
We are seeking candidates for a Senior Payroll Analyst position with a highly successful telecommunications company located in Madison, AL. The position will be responsible for managing all facets of the company’s international payroll processing and supporting quarterly and annual audit requirements. The ideal candidate will have 4 years of payroll processing experience, ideally including international payroll and SAP payroll system experience.
This is a permanent position that will pay a base salary of $80-90k (depending on experience).

Responsibilities:
- Accurately and efficiently process payroll in accordance with company policies and deadlines
- Act as the primary liaison between employees, third-party payroll vendors, and external accountants to ensure payroll accuracy
- Audit and reconcile payroll data by department, location, and country
- Lead or support payroll system implementations and upgrades
- Interpret and apply pay policies (e.g., vacation, leave of absence, disability, workers’ compensation, union agreements, and tax regulations) to ensure accurate payroll calculations and deductions
- Ensure compliance with international payroll laws and stay informed of regulatory changes
- Support internal and external audits related to payroll, tax filings, and workers’ compensation
- Document payroll procedures and assist in training payroll staff
- Provide backup support for specialized payroll activities (e.g., stock option exercises, SEC filings, sales commission calculations)
- Assist with additional projects and assignments as needed to support departmental goals
- Prepare and post month-end payroll journal entries and account reconciliations
- Ensure timely distribution of year-end tax documents to employees
- Prepare and file pension accounts
- Associate degree or equivalent work experience required
- 4 years of payroll processing experience, preferably including international payroll
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Knowledge of payroll laws, regulations, and compliance standards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Accounting experience and familiarity with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls is highly preferred
- Experience with SAP payroll systems highly preferred
