Senior Portfolio Accountant
Location: Hybrid (North of Boston)
Salary: $125k annually bonus

This role will involve overseeing the complete accounting cycle for a portfolio of industrial real estate properties. Key responsibilities include preparing monthly and quarterly financial statements, managing cash flow, performing balance sheet reconciliations, analyzing variances, and working closely with both the accounting and property management teams to ensure precise financial reporting. Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day property accounting, including journal entry, cash management, and balance sheet reconciliations in an effective, timely, and accurate manner
- Manage the month-end close process for a portfolio of properties
- Review property financial statements and financial packages, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines
- Manage preparation of quarterly and year-end CAM reconciliations
- Monitor AR, including identifying and communicating potential collection issues
- Review and approve invoices for payment, ensuring they are accurately coded and paid.
- Review new lease agreements and confirm lease terms are accurately entered into accounting software
- Review annual budgets for the assigned portfolio
- Track capital expenditures, monitor costs to budget, and ensure proper coding and accounting treatment
- Monitor lender funding for construction requisitions
- Assist with debt compliance monitoring and lender reporting
- Assist with annual audits
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- Five to ten years of accounting experience in commercial real estate
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., Yardi) preferred
- Ability to work independently, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent analytical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong understanding of GAAP
- Advanced Excel skills a plus
