What are the responsibilities and job description for the District Police position at Dalhart ISD?
Primary Purpose:
The Dalhart ISD DIstrict Police will patrol district property to protect all students, personnel, and visitors from harm and prevent property loss due to theft or vandalism in accordance with all applicable federal, state and local regulations.
Qualifications:
- Two or more years of college preferred
- Valid Texas Peace Officer License issued by Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) Advanced or higher preferred
- At Least 5 years of Service
Special Skills:
- Effective Communication skills
- Community oriented Policing and problem solving skills
- Must hold valid driver's license and meet district criteria to drive district vehicle
- Working knowledge of CopSync
- Willing to work with surrounding agencies including Juvenile Probation department
Responsibilities:
- Respond to calls for service on school campuses
- Coordinates with local, external law enforcement agencies as appropriate
- Advise administrative staff on crisis management situations
- Monitors progress of critical situations
- Participate in the development and implementation of district safety and emergency management plans
- Supervise, direct and coordinate crowd control and safety at public events
- Enforces applicable laws on district campuses and campus property
