The Dalio Family Office (DFO) supports Barbara and Ray Dalio and their family in their ventures, investments, and philanthropic efforts under Dalio Philanthropies, which includes OceanX, Dalio Education, Endless Network, and the Beijing Dalio Foundation. The core of the DFO’s culture is built around meaningful work and meaningful relationships and the family’s commitment to giving back. The office is headquartered in Westport, CT with regional offices in New York City, Singapore, and Abu Dhabi.

Security Pillar Overview

The DFO Security Pillar is responsible for securing and enabling the principals and family office by understanding risk, setting requirements, and implementing controls. The Security Pillar is a key partner to the business at all levels.

Position Summary

The Director of Aviation, Security & Risk Programs reports to the Chief Security Officer (CSO) and is responsible for implementing and executing key programs related to security, risk management, and private aviation. This individual will oversee risk policies, develop strategic metrics, manage program budgets, and coordinate vendor relationships while ensuring seamless execution of security and aviation-related operations. Additionally, the Director will serve as the Business Manager for the security department in alignment with DFO Enterprise requirements.

Day-to-day Responsibilities Would Include a Combination Of The Following

  • Private Aviation Management: Oversee and optimize a safe, efficient private aviation program, including vendor management, flight hours analysis, itinerary adjustments, and incident response.
  • Risk & Security Oversight: Track global intelligence and security developments in collaboration with the CSO and Director of Executive Protection to ensure proactive risk mitigation.
  • Strategic Program Implementation: Design and implement risk and security strategies with measurable effectiveness metrics to assist senior leadership with risk-based resource allocation.
  • Project Management: Oversee all risk, security, and strategic organizational projects from inception to execution.
  • Vendor & Contract Management: Evaluate service delivery, negotiate contracts, and oversee budget allocations.
  • Threat-Based Intelligence Programs: Support the CSO in driving strategic, intelligence-driven risk and security programs across the enterprise.
  • Policy Development: Draft and implement policies related to aviation, security, and risk management.
  • Security Infrastructure Oversight: Assist in managing access control and monitoring systems for domestic and international offices.
  • Financial Management: Develop and manage budgets associated with security, aviation, and risk programs.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform duties as assigned.

Apply For This Role If You Are/have

  • Exceptional communication and analytical skills to effectively manage security, aviation, and risk programs.
  • 10 years of commercial aviation experience, including flight coordination and budgetary oversight.
  • Proven ability to draft and implement risk, aviation, and security policies in private or public sectors.
  • Experience synthesizing complex requirements and assessing risks with measurable impact.
  • Expertise in managing intelligence-driven threat-based security programs.
  • Background in operations, with knowledge of current threats and vulnerabilities impacting organizations.
  • Strong discretion and judgment in handling sensitive information and critical incidents requiring senior leader engagement.

Qualifications

  • Required: Undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university
  • Preferred: Graduate degree and FAA commercial pilot certification
  • Strong accountability and commitment to high-performance standards.
  • Advanced analytical and communication skills.
  • Ability to be onsite in Westport, CT
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally approximately 10% of the time

Compensation

Compensation for the role includes a competitive salary in the range from $250,000 -$350,000 (inclusive of a merit-based bonus, dependent on years of experience, level of education obtained, as well as applicable skillset) and an excellent benefits package, including a comprehensive employer paid medical plan and generous employer match for 401k.
