Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Estimator for Underground Utilities Construction to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the estimating team and overseeing all aspects of the estimating process for underground utilities construction projects. The Chief Estimator will work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely estimates are provided.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the estimating team and oversee all aspects of the estimating process for underground utilities construction projects
- Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely estimates are provided
- Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and availability of materials and services
- Analyze and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure compliance with project requirements and specifications
- Prepare and present estimates to management and clients
- Monitor and track project costs and provide regular reports to management
- Participate in project meetings and provide input on cost-related issues
- Continuously improve the estimating process and procedures to increase accuracy and efficiency
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in underground utilities construction estimating
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and techniques
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and estimating software
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
