Museum Experience Manager

Summary
The Museum Experience Manager is responsible for ensuring that Museum visitors have the highest quality experience. This position hires and manages the full-time and part-time Museum Experience Team staff.
Job Duties
- Serve as a front-facing representative of the Museum and provide excellent customer service at all times.
- Hire, train, schedule and manage the Museum Experience Team.
- Lead regular staff meetings for the Museum Experience Team.
- Effectively represent the Museum Experience Team in interdepartmental meetings, ensuring clear communication for cross-functional needs
- Develop proficiency in the Ticketing CRM POS system, PatronManager.
- Foster an environment of teamwork and commitment to the Museum’s mission.

Perform and ensure team coverage for all Museum Experience Team responsibilities, including:
- Receive and process ticket payments via PatronManager.
- Ensure the Museum exhibit and theaters are functional each morning.
- Provide support for school group tours.
- Produce daily attendance reports.
- Open, close, and balance the cash registers on a daily basis. Complete all required daily reports for tracking daily financial transactions. Comply with all of the Museum’s cash handling, financial accounting and financial reporting policies and procedures.
- Promote Museum membership and assist with visitor enrollment.
- Assist with Holocaust survivor relations by ensuring that survivors are well taken care of during their time in the Museum.
- Answer phone, screen and forward calls, take phone messages, and provide general information regarding the Museum, directions, exhibitions/events and programs.
- Work programs and fundraising events, on and off-site as needed occasionally.
- Perform other duties, tasks, projects, and responsibilities as needed.
Key Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of recent cash handling and customer service experience in a retail environment.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong people management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate in English, fluency in Spanish desirable.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills with individuals of all ages.
- Ability to work flexible schedule as required including weekends, and evenings on an occasional basis.
- Demonstrate the strong critical thinking skills necessary to analyze situations and identify potential solutions.
- Ability to professionally interact with Museum Board and staff, donors, and external constituents.
- Ability to work with minimal direct supervision.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word desirable.
- Ability to perform detail-oriented work.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time, and to climb stairs
- Lifting up to 40 pounds
