What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Groundsperson (260 Days) position at Dallas Independent School District?
- On site supervision of utility laborers involved with preparation of grading terrain, application of fertilizers, seeding and sodding of lawns, transplanting trees, shrubs and mowing lawns.
- Perform manual labor in maintaining lawns, trees, shrubs, and mowing lawns.
- Provide truck and equipment security and assign tools and equipment.
- Maintain tools and equipment, coordinate supplies, and make recommendations for needed supplies and equipment.
- Insure landscape contractor has completed assigned work by performing onsite inspection.
- Assist in supervision of tree and shrub pruning.
- Identify and resolve routine employee work problems.
- Assist in the installation and repair District signage.
- Assist in determining lawn mowing schedules.
- Perform recordkeeping associated with work orders.
- Performs all other tasks and duties as assigned.
- Accredited High School Diploma or equivalent (U.S.A. equivalency).
- Three years of directly related experience.
- Valid Texas Driver's License and a driving record that meets the District’s standard.
- General knowledge in landscaping and application of fertilizer.
- General knowledge of the Maintenance Department’s organization and operation.
- Must maintain a Texas Driver's License that meets Dallas ISD standards.
- Must be able to pass the Dallas ISD random drug test.
