Administrative Assistant for Affordable Housing Compliance
We are looking for an enthusiastic, detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to support our Affordable Housing Compliance Team! The fundamental duties of the Compliance Administrative Assistant are to assist the Compliance Officer with monitoring the affordable components on all affordable apartment communities in the Dalmark portfolio. This position will perform a full range of administrative duties including reviewing paperwork, tracking information and data, and assembling reports. This individual must have a willingness to learn the fundamentals of both HUD and LIHTC housing programs through our internal and external training resources.

JOB TITLE: Compliance Administrative Assistant
REPORTS TO: Director of Compliance
STATUS: Full-time, Non-Exempt
WORK SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday, 7:30am - 4:30pm
LOCATION: Leawood, KS
COMPENSATION: $22.00 – 24.00 per hour
SUMMARY
The Compliance Administrative Assistant will provide administrative support to the Director of Compliance. They will also review resident files for completeness and accuracy according to written company guidelines. This position will assist with monitoring internal reporting to ensure properties in the portfolio are processing applications and annual re-certifications in a prompt, accurate and timely fashion. This position requires a very detail orientated individual with excellent organizational skills. The Compliance Administrative Assistant will adhere to and be familiar with non-discrimination policies as defined by the Fair Housing Laws.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with reviewing files to ensure compliance with applicable Affordable Programs including initial certifications, annual recertifications, interim recertifications, gross rent changes, and move-outs
- Complete and monitor EIV tasks, including running reports and working discrepancies with Property Managers
- Ensure income/rent limits and utility allowances are accurately enforced
- Ensure calculated tenant rent and subsidies are accurate
- Train and assist in enforcement of company set policies and procedures with site staff
- Monitor status of all certifications, and report past due certifications to Director of Compliance
- Monitor property compliance with state, federal, local agency requirements for Affordable Programs including any quarterly/annual reporting
- Perform site file reviews for property audit preparation
- Attend state and national compliance trainings, as directed
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Compliance
SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Experience and expertise with Microsoft Office required
- Willingness to learn affordable housing program regulations and procedures
- Excellent time management skills and must be detail oriented
- Excellent mathematical reasoning skills
- Ability to listen, communicate (written and verbal), excellent grammar, spelling and proofreading skills, and follow up effectively with all staffing levels
- Ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking and writing so others will understand
- Ability to work in team oriented environment
- Ability to work independently and to take initiative in a time sensitive environment
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to prioritize and organize workload, multi-task, adapts quickly to change, and deliver under the pressure of deadlines
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma, or equivalent, required
- Experience in affordable property management, preferred
