Job Objective :
The Safety Manager is a leading performer that will execute on organizational safety programs to prevent injuries and work-related health conditions and comply with applicable regulatory requirements. This role plays a key role in promoting and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by collaborating with various departments to minimize workplace hazards and foster a culture of safety.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Position :
- Analyze and classify risks and losses and measure financial impact upon the company.
- Design and direct programs to reduce accidents, occupational illness, and exposure to long term health hazards.
- Train employees and management in safety practices.
- Investigate accidents, injuries, or occupational illnesses to determine causes and preventive measures.
- Review plans and specifications for construction or purchase of new machinery or equipment to determine whether all safety requirements have been met.
- Conduct safety audits, record, and rate severity level, and assign responsibility for corrective actions.
- Coach site-specific leadership team on the expectations, tools, and implementation of the Safety Management System.
- Track and monitors SMS level specific KPI’s.
- Create and continually improve SMS specific training such as Supervisor Hazard identification / Mitigation, Supervisor Safety Communication Skills, Roles, and Responsibilities.
- Ensure the integrity of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.
- Performs other duties as needed.
