What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Assistant/Client Service Representative position at Damascus Veterinary Hospital?
Damascus Veterinary Hospital is seeking a veterinary assistant/client service representative to join our enthusiastic team! We are looking for someone to work a flexible, part-time schedule which will include four afternoon/evenings(M,Tu,W,F 2:00-6:30pm)) per week and three Saturday mornings(8:30am-1:30pm) per month for approximately 16-20 hours weekly. Experience preferred in animal handling and customer care. Salary commensurate with experience.
Duties will include -
- Assisting doctors with appointments and patient care
- Answering telephones and setting up pet care services
- Maintaining medical records
- Client communication and education
- Restraint and stress-free animal handling
- Medication administration and prescription preparations
- Cleaning facilities and cages
- Sterilization of surgical instruments
- In-house laboratory work and preparing samples for outside labs
- Full body digital radiographs
Qualifications -
- High school diploma and over 18 years of age
- Pass a background check and/or drug screening
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
