POSITION SUMMARY:

The Compliance Coordinator ensures the hospital’s operations align with all applicable healthcare regulations, policies, and industry standards. This role is responsible for monitoring, evaluating, and enforcing compliance with federal, state, and local laws. The coordinator conducts audits, develops training programs, and assists in the creation of policies to maintain a culture of compliance. They collaborate with various departments to identify compliance risks, recommend corrective actions, and ensure the hospital remains prepared for regulatory inspections.


POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred Associate’s / Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred Minimum Work Experience Five years' relevant experience: Preferred


Required Licenses Other Valid Driver's License (DL): Refer to the Required Licenses and Certifications list for additional job and/or unit specific requirements


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Serve as the primary point of contact for patients and families, addressing their questions, concerns, and needs promptly.

2. Advocate for patients' rights and ensure their voices are heard throughout their healthcare experience.

3. Receive and investigate patient complaints, working closely with hospital staff to resolve issues quickly and effectively.

4. Document and track patient feedback and complaints, ensuring proper follow-up and resolution.

5. Collect and analyze patient satisfaction surveys and feedback to identify trends and areas for improvement.

6. Report findings to hospital leadership and collaborate with departments to implement improvements based on patient feedback.

7. Work closely with clinical, administrative, and support staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care and service.

8. Communicate patient needs and concerns to relevant departments to facilitate timely action and resolution.

9. Provide patients and families with information about hospital policies, services, and procedures to ensure clarity and minimize confusion.

10. Educate staff on best practices for delivering compassionate, patient-centered care and enhancing the patient experience.

11. Help facilitate smooth transitions for patients during admission, discharge, and transfers, ensuring all procedures are clear and properly communicated.

12. Ensure that patients are comfortable and informed during their stay, addressing any needs or concerns as they arise.

13. Support the development and implementation of patient-centered initiatives to improve the overall hospital experience.

14. Participate in quality improvement efforts related to patient experience, care delivery, and hospital services.

15. Maintain accurate records of patient interactions, concerns, and resolutions, ensuring documentation complies with hospital policies.

16. Prepare reports summarizing patient feedback and experiences for hospital leadership and quality assurance teams.

17. Act as a mediator in resolving conflicts between patients, families, and hospital staff, ensuring positive outcomes and a calm, respectful environment.

18. Foster an environment that prioritizes the comfort, safety, and well-being of patients.

19. Encourage hospital staff to adopt practices that enhance communication, empathy, and collaboration with patients.

3. Basic knowledge and understanding of intellectual and developmental disabilities.

5. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.

6. Must be a positive team player and maintain a positive attitude.

7. Must be flexible in working hours and be willing to work extra hours as needed. Must be able to read, write, and comprehend English effectively.

8. Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills when addressing challenging situations.

9. Willingly performs other duties as assigned or requested.
