Title: Human Resources Director
Reports To: Chief Operating Officer
Overview:
The Director of Human Resources is responsible for planning, directing and coordinating human resources activities, policies and programs for Damian Family Care Centers. The Director for Human resources must be hands-on in all aspects of human resources and will be responsible for all people related matters:
- Ensuring that all HR programs and initiatives are integrated and effective in supporting the overall mission, goals and objectives of Damian,
- Provides leadership and direction to the human resources’ staff.
- Foster collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Ensuring Damian’s values are reflected in people-oriented decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
- Ensure organizational compliance with local, state and federal legal requirements and advise department managers on the legal aspect of human resources issues associated with employee grievances and discipline.
- Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands and other grievances or issues. Conduct workplace investigations into allegations of harassment and discrimination and employee misconduct.
- Manage the recruitment and selection process.
- Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation and preservation of human capital.
- Develop and monitor overall HR strategies, systems, tactics and procedures across the organization.
- Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance. Assess training needs to apply and monitor training programs.
- Report to management and provide decision support through HR metrics.
- Monitors all pay practices and systems for effectiveness, equity and cost containment. Develop and maintain pay scales for all Damian positions.
- Supervise and lead the HR team in creating an inviting and cohesive employee experience.
- Stay updated on the current regulatory measures, best practices and new technologies in human resources management, employment law, and talent management, and apply this in-depth knowledge to communicate any alterations in policies, practices, and resources to senior management.
- Create and implement innovative communication channels and platforms to facilitate employees’ open dialogue and information sharing.
- Lead efforts to manage the change process when new policies are introduced, ensuring employees and leaders understand the rationale behind the changes and their impact.
- Oversee Damian’s HRIS system ensuring data is captured accurately and consistently. Implement data quality checks to maintain data integrity. Establish data-sharing protocols with the Chief Information Officer.
- Conduct periodic reviews of the system and recommend updates as necessary to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
Job Qualifications and Skill Sets:
- Master’s degree in human resources management or organizational or business management.
- At least 10 years’ progressive human resources generalist experience or organizational management with 5 or more years at a senior level in HR or management.
- Strong leadership experience-to lead not only the HR department but also the organization’s culture and talent strategy.
- Knowledge of how to gather and utilize employee feedback to improve services, policies, and programs.
- Broad knowledge and experience in employment law and practices and employee relations.
- Experience in the administration of benefits and compensation programs.
- Knowledge of training and development principles to support employee growth and engagement.
- Strong record of HR management or organizational management experience.
- Experience driving change in an organization.
- The ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
- The ability to lead and coach at executive level. This includes developing a coaching ethos throughout an organization.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Strong analytical and interpretation skills involving complex data. Ability to change course when data indicates it.
- Ability to run and manage a successful recruitment program and to develop a successful staff retention program.
- Strong skills in navigating and resolving conflicts in a constructive manner.
- Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Windows environment. Proficient with HR technologies, tools and platforms for talent management and people analytics.
- Skill in designing and implementing programs to enhance employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention, fostering a positive work environment and agency culture.
- Ability to travel to all Damian Health Centers as required.

Pay: $120,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
