Dana-co, a leading design company of luxury intimate apparel, is looking for Merchandising Manager.
This person reports to the Senior Director of Merchandising, Design and Product Development.
This position works at least 4 days in our office in New York City and can work 1 day remotely.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Merchandising or related field
- 7-10 years of Merchandising experience.
- Knowledgeable and up-to-date on trends and market insight.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and multiple teams.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Solid understanding of the competitive landscape.
Responsibilities:
- Quarterly visits to the market - meet with the in-store team to be updated on newness.
- Review competition specifically against what we will be presenting during market.
- Research, analyze, and stay up to date with all accounts assortments, competitive market business, and visit stores and market on a regular basis to update awareness of existing industry trends.
- Compile competitive in-store analysis and present relevant conclusions and innovations in the Market. Present charted findings and research.
- Review (Our) product on the floor and competition.
- Compare In-store vs Online business and assortments.
- Identify Opportunities and redundancies.
- Assess the competitive landscape to identify opportunities for future growth and voids within the brand
- Review weekly sales by tracking and analyzing information.
- Responsible for staying up to date and informed of all running lines for Dana-co. (Strategy, Style, Color, Pricing)
- Adhere to Product Development/Design/Merchandising Calendar
- Responsible to follow established cc list for all communication.
- Work with the Senior Director to develop a seasonal assortment line plan
- Coordinate with functional areas (design, production & product development) to execute seasonal assortments from concept to creation.
- Prioritize developments and assignments for the season's needs.
- Provide target cost for styles based on the brand and market research.
- Attend Concept Meetings to review proposed Design Concepts, and give Merchandising point of view on newness and concepts. Specify any additional voids or opportunities.
- Responsible for communicating with Design in a positive, supportive, and creative way to promote a collaborative atmosphere that inspires creativity and innovation.
- Collaborate with the Senior Director and Color Assistant on Seasonal Color Cadence
- Review Designs Color flow proposal and make sure merchandising needs are met by Design. Make any call-outs timely and before SMS are put into order.
- Manage Merchandising team to ensure Merchandising charts, Sales tools, and market week information is up to date and error-free
- Analyze weekly sales information, identifying opportunities for current development.
- Manage Merchandising calendar - meeting preparation, design reviews, line pricing, line architectures, and internal market presentations.
- Sales analysis: Review and understand top sellers, ranking, Fashion and replenishment, collection performance, and size and color selling.
