Overview
Administers, directs and integrates the organization’s networks in a multiple platform, protocol and operating system environment. Maintain network hardware and software. Monitor network to ensure network availability to all system users and perform necessary maintenance to support network availability.

- Plans, coordinates, implements, and supports data center infrastructure hardware
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, or other system problems, and replace defective components when necessary.
- Plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
- Document Data Center environments and procedures
- Ability to Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations.
- Ability to work closely and coordinate with network and administrative groups on multiple levels.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Qualifications - Required
- Bachelors degree required, MS preferred in Computer Science or related field and or 6-9 years relevant experience. A combination of education and experience may be substituted for degree requirement.
- May provide workflow direction to subordinates and serve as a mentor to junior staff.
- Ability to travel between data center locations
- Performs primary duties as above independently and has progressed to performing more advanced skillsets as directed
Qualifications – Preferred
- Basic/Intermediate networking configuration/troubleshooting
- Experience with Various Linux distributions (RedHat/Centos/Rocky/Ubuntu)
- Experience with Microsoft Operating Systems (Windows 10/11, Server 2019/2022/2025)
- Virtual Machine (VMWare/Proxmox/KVM) experience preferred
- Scripting experience (Python/Bash/PowerShell/Perl) preferred
- Experience supporting a research environment preferred
