KEY QUALIFICATIONS

· A degree in architecture and 3 years work experience in the profession is preferred

· Proficient in drafting, dimensioning, 3D rendering, and drawing elevations

· Working knowledge of Chief Architect, AutoCad, Sketchup, Enscape or similar programs

· Strong client skills: listening, advising and communication within a project team structure

· Working knowledge of tracking project expenses and costs utilizing excel or other comparable spreadsheet software.

· Coordination with project consultants

· Scheduling, development of critical path schedules, establishment of milestones, etc.

· Proficiency in presentation to clients of design and cost information with confidence leading clients to decisions

· Self-starter with excellent communication and planning skills

· Hyper attention to details (measuring spaces, drafting plans, reviewing bids, checking the work of others)

· Solid space planning skills

· Ability to interpret and execute a variety design styles

· Collaborative team player with a flexible mindset; enjoys working in a team and process-driven environment

· Ability to work independently and take direction from team members

· Proactive problem-solver, drives the solution

· Adept in prioritizing and delivering on competing demands

· Ability to develop and manage several jobs simultaneously

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

· Designs kitchen, bath, and exterior projects

· Collaborates with Production in taking remodeling projects from concept to completion

· Develops concepts specific to clients’ budgets

· Performs all drafting for projects, including construction permit sets

· Client presentations, site walk throughs, obtaining bids, develop scope of work and contract signings

· Selects and sources all finish materials for projects

· Performs administrative duties related to client projects: data entry, bid requests, file maintenance, assists with change orders as needed

· Communicates with production and with external partners as needed

· Assists in developing junior staff such as design assistants as needed

Ideal candidates are experienced in remodeling, either having worked for themselves or with a design or construction firm. Proficiency with Chief Architect or other drawing tools is required.

Compensation is based on level of experience.
