What you’ll do
The Engineering Manager will supervise a team of manufacturing engineers and automation engineers to support Cytiva’s production operations in Logan, Utah. The Logan site consists of production, warehouse/distribution, and administrative buildings (200K ft2) This position will also play a key role in the planning of manufacturing facility expansions related to the site master plan.
- Provide design support and leadership to engineering teams that are responsible for the installation and upgrade of critical systems and equipment used in the manufacture of pharmaceutical products.
- Manage, coach, develop, hire and train members of the engineering team.
- Set priorities for manufacturing engineering personnel engaged in response to manufacturing and plant priorities related to safety, quality, production, and cost/efficiency.
- Ensure that engineering support is performed in compliance with cGMP Regulations and Company Policies/Procedures.
- Develop, lead or participate in various process improvement projects. Drive continuous improvement (LEAN) initiatives through application of sound engineering/reliability program elements and a data driven approach.
- Closely partner with Maintenance in the planning and execution of capital expansion and improvement projects.
- Collaborate with Facilities Engineering and EHS to track and manage sustainability targets (Energy consumption, water, waste, etc.)
- Participate in Basis of Design and planning meetings related to the Cytiva Site Master plan to ensure manufacturing engineering elements are represented in the final design.
- This position must comply with all Security guidelines, Environmental Health and Safety regulations and the current Good Manufacturing Practices required by the job function.
Who you are
- BS in an Engineering discipline (Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering) or equivalent experience.
- Ten (10) years of experience in engineering and support of manufacturing equipment and processes in a fast-paced, multi-facility production environment.
- Pharmaceutical (cGMP) industry experience highly desired.
- At least Five (3) years-experience in an Engineering managerial role of similar scope.
- Strong finance, budgeting, and analytic skills.
- Strong customer service and problem-solving aptitude.
- Conversant in LEAN concepts and management methods. Proven ability to drive a continuous improvement culture.
- Demonstrated collaboration, negotiation & conflict resolution skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, communicate & implement strategies in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills, verbal and written (English).
- Knowledge of cGMP’s, SOP’s, Federal and local regulatory requirements.
- Working knowledge of Excel, Word, Power Point.
