Title: Medical Practice Patient Representative (Clerical Assistant) - NHMP Danbury Gastroenterology/Digestive Health - Danbury, CT - 40 Hours per week - 8 hour shifts: 8:45am - 5:15pm.
Summary: Provides centralized answering services for all calls to the specialty practice of Danbury Gastroenterology and other associated locations. The position serves as a initial greeting to each caller on behalf of the practice providing the following services, not limited to scheduling appointments, fielding patient inquires, concerns and/or requests. The position will ensure all established protocols of Nuvance Health and Gastroenterology are met to provide the optimum patient experience with empathy, courtesy and professionalism.
Responsibilities
Required: High School Diploma or GED,MS Outlook, Data Entry, Excellent Communication Skills (written and verbal).
Minimum Experience: six months
Desired: Practice Management System experience, Medical office experience, MS Excel.
Salary Range
$16.0000 - $29.5147 Hourly (Based on years of relative experience)

Responsibilities
- Answers phones, routes calls, take messages, conveys information, and assures accurate communication.
- Performs reception of customers and communicates pleasantly and effectively.
- Ensures accuracy of patient's information, including demographics and insurance.
- Registers, verifies and schedules patient appointments, testing, and referrals.
- Reschedules cancelled, no show, tickler appointments.
- Processes record requests, including the copying, billing, charging and recording.
- Collects co-pays and reconciles moneys for deposit.
- Obtains and coordinates record retrieval for new and established patients.
- Completes audits as assigned.
- Performs intake and processing of medical records and other documentation and correspondence via eFax.
- Presents a professional appearance and image.
- Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
