Title: Medical Practice Patient Representative (Clerical Assistant) - NHMP Danbury Thoracic Surgery, 7 Germantown Rd, Danbury CT. Full Time, 40 hours per week, 8 hour shifts, 8:30am - 5:00pm.
Summary: Provides advanced level clerical and administrative support and coordinates the patient care activities for physician practice operations.
Responsibilities
Required: High School Diploma/GED. MS Outlook, MS Excel, Data Entry, Excellent Communication Skills (verbal and written). Minimum Experience: one year
Desired: Practice Management System experience, Medical Office experience, Hospital Scheduling.
Salary Range
$16.0000 - $29.5147 hourly - (Pay per years of relative experience)

Responsibilities
- Coordinates and schedules appointments and obtains authorizations for testing, referrals, surgical procedures, hospital procedures, hospital admissions.
- Reconciles money and financial reports for daily office deposit.
- Expected to be cross-trained and provide back-up for check in/out staff.
- Coordinates and maintains physician schedules including, but not limited to, meetings, teaching, inpatient rounding.
- Maintains and orders office supplies for efficiency of operation while ensuring budgetary controls.
- Participates in the reengineering of workflows and process improvements throughout the practice to meet the requirements of programs such as Patient Centered Medical Home and Meaningful Use.
- Completes audits and assists with tracking and reporting of information as needed.
- Acts as a super user for telephone and/or scheduling systems.
- Presents a professional appearance and imagine.
- Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
