We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Camp Director to lead our summer camp program. The Camp Director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of camp operations, ensuring a safe and enriching environment for campers. This role requires strong leadership skills, experience in education administration, and a commitment to fostering a positive learning experience for students. The ideal candidate will have a background in higher education teaching and experience working with students in a university setting.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging camp programs that align with educational goals.
- Manage daily operations of the camp, including staff supervision, scheduling, and logistics.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all campers by adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Recruit, train, and evaluate camp staff to create an effective team.
- Foster a positive camp culture that encourages participation, teamwork, and personal growth among campers.
- Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and stakeholders regarding camp activities and camper progress.
- Organize special events, activities, and excursions that enrich the camper experience.
- Monitor camper behavior and provide guidance to ensure a respectful and inclusive environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Recreation Management, or related field preferred.
- Proven experience in education administration or higher education teaching.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students in a university or educational setting.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire staff and campers alike.
