The Dane County Department of Administration/Printing & Services Division in Madison, WI has two (2) full-time (1.0 FTE) vacancies for a Printing and Services Clerk position.Eligibility List created will be used to fill future vacancies over the next six (6) months.

These primary responsibilities include processing production printing and fast copy requests from City and County agencies, running the mail delivery operation for City and County agencies, operation of the division’s pool car program and processing customer service requests for the division. EXAMPLES OF DUTIESFor the printing responsibilities this position sets up, operates, and maintains a variety of printing and duplicating machines and related equipment including fast copy machine, power paper cutter, power drill, folding machine, collator, binding and jogging equipment; receives duplicating orders; determines stock to be used; sets up format; performs colored ink work and uses half tones; keeps time and material cost records. For the mail responsibilities this position delivers and collects mail from different City, County and State Offices; sorts mail and runs it through the computerized postage meter machine; sorts and prepares mail for delivery to the Post Office and mail house (vendor); maintains a record of the previous day's output in order to generate bill back charges to departments; assists in loading and unloading paper and other supplies; replaces ink cartridges and labeling tape when necessary; takes the daily totals of mail output and complete tally sheet for outside vendor to pick up; provides maintenance and general care of the van to keep it in proper running condition. For the Customer Service responsibilities, this position accounts for the Division’s Pool Car Operation and keeps records and creates invoices for services rendered.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of modern office procedures and practices; effective oral and written communication skills; ability to make arithmetic calculations with speed and accuracy; ability to gather and organize information from a variety of source documents; ability to devise work methods to improve efficiency or meet new requirements; ability to interpret complex guidelines; ability to operate standard office machines including electronic data processing equipment as well as working with software including QuickBooks, Adobe Pro, InDesign, Excel, Fiery Command WorkStation, and MUNIS; ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with the public; ability to be detail oriented with strong technical, administrative and customer services skills; Proficient in operating and maintaining advanced printing and mailing equipment.
