Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Lead and coordinate daily activities of paint line staff (painters, preppers, loaders/unloaders).
- Set up, operate, and monitor paint line equipment including washers, ovens, and spray booths.
- Ensure components are cleaned, masked, painted, and cured according to specifications.
- Monitor quality control throughout the painting process, ensuring compliance with company and customer standards.
- Perform visual inspections and coordinate touch-ups or rework as needed.
- Train new team members and provide ongoing coaching to maintain performance standards.
- Maintain accurate production and inventory records.
- Communicate with supervisors, maintenance, and other departments to ensure smooth workflow.
- Identify and report equipment issues or safety hazards promptly.
- Implement and support lean manufacturing practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations related to painting operations (e.g., PPE, ventilation, chemical handling).
Required Qualifications
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
- Minimum two years using air gun/sprayer
- Minimum two years utilizing paint principals/pressure
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks
- Ability to lift up 40lbs and work in hot and/or noisy environments
