These parts include master scheduled parts, assembled end items, machined components, and purchased parts.
Job Responsibilities
- Coordinate production material activities for manufacturing products. This involves the creation and execution of purchase and/or work orders within the ERP system.
- Execute supplier procurement plans and/or internal production plans to fulfill requirements for both internal and external customers.
- Implement and/or maintain replenishment systems such as consignment, vendor-managed inventory, and supplier linking.
- Ensure that product is available to meet production requirements, while minimizing net working capital.
- Drive inventory reductions. Provide reporting, visibility, follow-up and work cross-functionally to meet expected levels.
- Review inventories for excess and obsolescence.
- Support Engineering changes and new product releases. Mitigate inventory impacts related to product phase-outs.
- Maintain planning parameters including Safety Stocks, Multiples, and Planning Periods.
- Manage supplier delivery schedules.
- Establish and manage ongoing relationships with suppliers.
- Integrate supply chain through advanced procurement methods.
- Evaluate supply base weekly for potential delivery or quality problems. Implement corrective actions to prevent re-occurrences.
- Resolve ASN or PO discrepancies.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or Equivalent.
- At least five to seven years’ experience in a Purchasing and/or Production Planning role in a formal MRP environment.
- SAP experience required.
- Experience with pull systems & working in a lean manufacturing environment.
- Strong project management skills and experience required.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point preferred.
- APICS Certification is preferred.
