Job Description:
We're looking for a hard-working, reliable Fleet Manager to oversee the operations of our Heavy Equipment vehicles. The ideal candidate will be experienced with managing complex vehicle fleets and will have the ability to prioritize and conduct regular maintenance on all company vehicles and equipment. We are interested in hiring someone who can efficiently identify areas for improvement, make constant adjustments to the organization and establish new policies as necessary.
Responsibilities:
- Directs the operation of the company’s maintenance facility: directing a group of diesel mechanics engaged in the repair, reconditioning, and servicing of miscellaneous equipment ranging from vans, light trucks, heavy trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks, and including specialized apparatus and equipment.
- Makes general assignments and advises diesel mechanics on difficult tasks
- Supervise major and minor repairs to all vehicles and equipment
- Advises and assists subordinates in major repairs and difficult diagnostic and mechanical or refurbishment work
- Handles after hours emergency calls
- Approve, review, and process all department parts purchases and expenditures
- Conduct employee performance evaluations
- Establish preventative maintenance schedule for Company fleet
- Determine the need for vehicles to be removed from service or repairs based upon inspection or driver reported problems
- Assist in the training/development of new maintenance employees
- Maintain accurate service and safety records on company vehicles and equipment
- Develop, recommend, implement, and manage the department’s annual budget and business plan
- Ensure that team members adhere to all safety requirements and procedures. Continually analyze the company’s working environment and recommend improvements to safety procedures
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
