Job Summary:
· The Controller is part of a small executive committee that manages an equipment dealership small business and several affiliated companies, and reports directly to the owner and CEO. The position has hands-on responsibility for daily fiscal activity; all accounting; and month-end close. This is an on-site in-office position in the Manchester NH area.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Oversees all General Ledger activity, which includes accuracy of accounts payable, accounts receivable, Inventory, capital assets, banking activity and reporting, and tax payments.
· Provides regular daily oversight to two administrative employees, and interfaces with all managers.
· Completes hands-on recording of top-level bank activity, and reports daily bank transactions to staff for A/R posting. Oversees bank account management and conducts transfers to optimize balances.
· Oversees daily activity of ERP postings across the entire company to assure accuracy and GAAP compliance. Responsible for the General Ledger account structure.
· Conducts regular reconciliation of accounts for month-end close.
· Generates annual profitability analysis for operations departments.
· Calculates monthly sales commissions based on extensive rules.
· Provides ad-hoc financial analysis when requested by CEO and department managers.
· Works with external auditors and provides needed information for annual audits.
· Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Excellent personal relatability, written, and verbal skills for all levels of employees, from top managers to line employees in a blue-collar environment.
· Excellent time management skills for consistent multi-tasking.
· Proficient in ERP software, with understanding of all aspects of commercial sales and service of large-ticket equipment dealership. Familiarity with Microsoft Great Plains or 365 Business Central ERP is a strong plus. Familiarity with Crystal Reports is a plus.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software. Advanced familiarity with Microsoft Excel.
Education and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration required.
· Ten years or more of related experience required.
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
