Dank Bros LLC is a Tier II indoor cannabis grow company in Milwaukie, Oregon. To be considered for any position at Dank Bros, a candidate must possess and demonstrate these attributes –
1. A strong work ethic. Indoor cannabis farming requires hard physical work and mental focus that is carried out seven days a week, from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
2. A consistent focus on cleanliness. Every employee is expected to contribute to the cleaning program, from the sanitizing of grow rooms to carrying recycling to the outdoor bins.
3. Initiative. Demonstrate a preference for punctuality, kindness, lending a hand, supporting the team during peak work periods, putting the stewardship of the cannabis above self interest.
4. A demonstrated respect for every individual. Misogyny, racism, ageism, or intolerance of opinions not like your own are not welcome at Dank Brothers.
5. A commitment to clear and unambiguous compliance with OLCC regulations. Ingestion of cannabis in any form before or during work shifts, in or near the facility, is unacceptable.
Qualifications and Qualities Required The entry level gardener is an hourly wage position available to candidates age-21 and older and holding, or eligible to receive, an Oregon cannabis handler’s card. The functions of this position require the incumbent to work approximately 70 hours every two-week pay period. Regular business hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. Garden team members are required to participate in occasional early morning and evening shifts, and an occasional weekend shift. The entry level incumbent must be a mature individual who can carry through on assigned tasks in a timely manner without continuous supervision. He/she will be supervised by the Floor Manager and the General Manager. He/she will have the willingness and ability to learn about and participate in the Dank Bros grow program. This position has potential for wage increases and promotion for an incumbent who proves their value as a conscientious individual and contributor dedicated to the company mission.
Core Functions
- Serve as a garden team member on assigned tasks and duties consistent with planned production schedules and team project completion schedules.
- Carry out specific techniques for cannabis plant handling and treatment including big leafing, water emitter placement, line flushing and replacement, plant health protection, and general disease containment protocols.
- Carry out assigned tasks thoroughly and according to expected outcomes as required by the daily and weekly duty schedule.
- Learn and administer Dank Bros cleaning and sanitizing procedures for grow rooms and the common areas of the facility.
- Work safely to protect your personal health and physical safety, and contribute to the protection, good health, and physical safety of others.
- Provide early warning and assessments of physical plant systems to prevent operational failures and maintain optimum operational efficiencies.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities The entry level gardener has an interest in learning the cannabis business and becoming an essential member of a close-knit team with potential for promotions. He/she will be a dependable performer, a positive role model, and a skilled communicator able to adapt to changing conditions and situations with a cool head.
The entry level gardener possesses basic knowledge:
- Basic understanding of general gardening science about soil, water, light, and temperature that supports cannabis development.
- Basic understanding of physical plant systems such as HVAC, lighting, climate sensors, storage systems, and hazardous materials handling and disposal.
The entry level gardener possesses basic skills:
- Skill in developing rapport and trust with crew members and managers.
- Skill in contributing to a team atmosphere of cooperation where continuous learning and continuous improvement is encouraged and supported.
- Skill in adapting to changing conditions and demonstrating adaptability.
- Skill in teaching and helping other employees to develop their knowledge and abilities.
The entry level gardener possesses essential abilities:
- Ability to calculate amounts, measure spaces in three dimensions, and follow assembly instructions.
- Ability to sustain and carry through on work assignments within agreed to time ranges.
- Ability to be emotionally appropriate in interpersonal situations with co-workers and managers, using verbal and body language appropriate for the workplace.
Expectations and Requirements
Dank Bros LLC starts entry level garden workers at $16.50 per hour with a raise to $18 after three months of a successful probationary period. A higher starting wage could be negotiated depending on experience. All hourly employees receive six paid holidays and 9 PTO days per year.
The incumbent is not required to have a valid driver license but must be able to access transportation that meets on-time arrival and departure expectations at the grow facility. Cannabis, alcohol, and other mood- and motor skill-altering drugs may not be consumed before or during the workday. Observably impaired behavior or outward symptoms of drug and alcohol use may be grounds for immediate dismissal by any manager to protect the health, mental welfare, and safety of every Dank Bros employee.
Proof of an approved Covid-19 vaccination is required for employment. Covid-19 and variant transmission alert protocols are being used to protect employee health. Exposure to a Covid-19 positive individual inside or outside the Dank facility will result in implementing the Covid management policy which may require time-off without pay for hourly wage employee. COVID-19 testing, when indicated, will be paid for by Dank Bros LLC.
