RATE: $31.00 – $41.00/hour
JOB SUMMARY
The P1 Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing layup, tool preparation, breakout, and cure operations at Plant 1, monitoring all production activity to ensure current and forecasted customer demands are met within deadlines. To achieve productivity metrics and company objectives, the P1 Plant Manager identifies and addresses capacity constraints, resource misalignments, and department obstacles while leading and developing supervisors through open communication that encourages team member engagement.

The P1 Plant Manager directly reports to the Production Manager
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR POSITION
Education, Training, and/or Experience
- U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Valid Driver’s License
- Bachelor’s Degree (combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree)
- Minimum of 8 years of experience working in composite manufacturing
- Minimum of 4 years of experience leading a team or project
- Experience with Statistical Process Control, AS9100, NADCAP, and Lean Six-Sigma (certification preferred)
- Knowledge of GD&T and ASME standards highly preferred

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

- Foundational knowledge of company products, processes, and AS9100 and Nadcap qualifications

- Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings, specifications, and work instructions
- Proficiency in process specifications and familiarity in composite bonding, curing, and demolding
- Advanced understanding of warm debulking, final bagging, leak checking, cure ramp rates and soak times
- Familiar with common tools and equipment related to lamination, breakout, and cure with ability to train others
- Competent in Microsoft Office and ERP systems
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Manage supervisors in the cleanroom and all staff in Breakout and Cure departments
- Coach and mentor direct reports; share best practices in leading, communicating, and training, providing frequent feedback
- Maintain visibility of production schedule to monitor workflow; prioritize and balance workloads effectively to meet demand
- Evaluate plant operations for adherence to production efficiency, quality, safety, and compliance standards
- Demonstrate collaborative leadership methods that emphasize goal setting, team empowerment, and comradery
- Analyze department capacity; assign equipment and/or resources to support existing and forecasted rate increases
- Improve tool preservation and thermocouple placement through documentation and accountability
- Optimize resource and equipment utilization to increase efficiency and reduce cost
- Identify and communicate recurring non-conformances
- Establish and monitor performance metrics with production supervisors to meet production goals and objectives
- Manage team member leave requests, maintain accurate time and attendance records, and conduct performance reviews
- Make recommendations in scheduling, staffing, and resource allocation; assist in recruiting, hiring and onboarding new hires
- Collaborate with SMEs to troubleshoot and resolve production-related challenges
- Use industry knowledge, innovative thinking, and sound judgment to solve problems and improve internal procedures
- Write and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) to clearly define how processes align with employee responsibility
- Maintain and promote a clean, organized, and safe work environment
