Danvers Public Schools seeks an Grade 5 Teacher at Thorpe Elementary School
- Reports To: Thorpe School Principal
Role & Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction for students.
- Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for differences and learning styles.
- Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, and materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of
- learning styles and needs of students assigned.
- Manage student behavior to achieve an effective learning environment and in compliance with district and state guidelines.
- Work collaboratively with other staff members to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to district requirements.
- Provide timely and appropriate plans for substitutes as necessary.
- Conduct ongoing assessment of student learning through formal and informal testing.
- Persistent belief in the potential for all students to succeed academically with an asset-based mindset
- Ability to communicate respectfully and in a culturally proficient manner with parents/guardians about student progress and language acquisition

Ability to analyze and utilize student data to develop and/or co-create curriculum and instruction that meets the needs of diverse learners.
