Accountability Objective
The instructor will provide instruction in all components of the certified nurse assistant course of study. The instructor will provide instruction for students on campus, which can include traditional CNA students and / or College Express students. Additionally, the instructor will assist with developing curriculum, syllabus, and providing instructional materials, which afford students with optimum opportunity to achieve academic success in Nurse Assistant training.
Required Qualifications
Registered nurse with a minimum of two years nursing experience
One year of experience as RN in one or both of the following areas :
- Teaching an accredited Nursing Education program
- Caring for the elderly or for the chronically ill in a long-term care setting
Instructor shall possess at least one of the following :
methods, or learning styles
At least one year experience providing services for patients with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias or documentation of completion of a specialized workshop, course, or other training for instruction in Alzheimer's disease and related dementias

Possess a wide range of knowledge, talents, and skills to facilitate making learning factual and enjoyable.
Demonstrates the ability to develop and implement a course of study and daily lesson plans.
Recommend the selection of teaching materials, e.g. texts, videos, and supplies to the Director of Adult Education.
Keep abreast of the latest theories of learning and changes in the IDPH.
Demonstrate enthusiasm in teaching performance and high expectation for all students.
Implement teaching methods utilizing the approved course of study as a guide, a variety of teaching techniques, procedures, and resources to increase the mental, social, and physical growth of student.
Develop and implement evaluation techniques that are appropriate for each class.
Demonstrates respect for the needs of students through humanness and dedication to the education profession.
Maintain and submit all student and class records in accordance with IDPH requirements, e.g. attendance and master schedule.
Identify appropriate residents in nursing homes or hospitals so that students gain the necessary skills in patient care.
Coordinate a graduate ceremony after completion of each class.
Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
Assist in upholding and enforcing school rules and administrative regulations.
Make provisions for being available to students and parents for education-related purposes when necessary and under reasonable terms.
Salary : $60,000
