We are seeking passionate and experienced Acting Instructors to join our team at DARA Studio of Acting. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Theatre, Film, or a related field, or equivalent experience working in the industry. The instructor will be responsible for teaching acting classes to students of all ages, ranging from beginners to more advanced actors. The focus will be on training for TV, film, and theatre performance.
Responsibilities
- Lead dynamic and engaging acting classes for students of various skill levels.
- Provide individualized feedback and coaching to help students improve their acting technique.
- Develop and implement lesson plans that cover acting fundamentals, scene study, and character development using multiple theories of study and Dara's expertise.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters creativity and self-expression.
- Address any shortcomings in the attitudes of students if they violate our code of conduct.
- Prepare students for auditions, performances, and real-world industry demands.
- Collaborate with other instructors and staff to enhance the overall student experience.
- Stay up-to-date with current industry trends and acting methodologies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Theatre, Film, or a related field, or relevant professional experience in the acting industry.
- Prior teaching or coaching experience is preferred but not required.
- Strong knowledge of TV, film, and theatre acting techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for teaching and helping students grow in their craft.
- Ability to create a supportive, motivating, and inclusive classroom environment.
This role requires a background check.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 6 – 15 per week
