What are the responsibilities and job description for the QA Laboratory Technician position at Darigold, Inc.?
Darigold is seeking a Lab Technician for our Chehalis, WA plant location.
What you Will Do
- Ensure that all products' analytical, micro and organoleptic properties are in compliance with product and regulatory specifications. This includes communicating test results Management as necessary
- Contacting QA Manager immediately when product does not meet specifications.
- Obtain finished product line samples for micro and analytical testing
- Obtain raw and pasteurized samples for micro and analytical testing
- Calibrating equipment and ensuring that testing equipment and methods produce results in agreement with an established standard
- Performing extra tests when needed
- Reporting results in a timely and accurate manner to Quality Assurance, Operations, and Accounting departments.
- Preparing Certificates of Analysis as needed.
- Must be able to lift/push/pull 50lbs
- Responsible for reporting all food safety and/or quality concerns to Management.
- Other duties as assigned based on department needs.
What You will Bring
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating levels of work each day.
- High level of organizational skills.
- Ability to perform analytical and micro tests such that results agree with a standard and/or duplicate testing by a recognized laboratory.
- Basic understanding of microbiology and familiarity with plating methods.
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Office programs such as excel, word, outlook.
- High school diploma or equivalent required for this position.
- Basic computer literacy required for this position.
- Bachelor's degree in a science discipline preferred
- Prior laboratory experience strongly preferred (in school and/or professionally)
- Prior experience in a dairy processing environment preferred
Schedule
- Day Shift; Wednesday thru Saturday; 40 hours per week, 10 hours per day

Salary : $27 - $30
