What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Mechanic position at Darigold?
Darigold is seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Mechanic to be a part of Darigold's Lynden Plant. The Maintenance Mechanic must possess the desire and ability to maintain and repair all plant equipment. The Maintenance Mechanic's role is to ensure successful maintenance and repair of plant machinery and supporting special projects within the plant. This role is represented by a bargaining agreement, which will require union membership.
This is an overnight shift after training.
What you will do :
- Experience maintaining boilers, air compressors, condensers, glycol systems, cooling towers, and wastewater
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical motors and controls (VFD experience a must)
- Experience troubleshooting and repair of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Experience maintaining and troubleshooting mechanical systems - Fans, conveyors, gearboxes, etc.
- Experience troubleshooting fluid process equipment including pumps, valves, etc.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics and equipment manuals
- Able to lift 50 lbs. routinely / frequently and be able to sit, stand or climb or walk for 12 hrs
- Understanding and experience of preventive maintenance. Experience with CMMS programs preferred
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and maintain equipment and records
- Strong team / verbal / written skills are required. Demonstrated ability to be a Team Player
- Must be available to work any shift including nights, weekends, holidays.
