Compensation:
Starting at $150,000 with market-based adjustments in line with the company's size and performance. This includes performance-based incentives, potential bonus structures, and possible equity participation.
Job Summary
We are seeking a seasoned and dynamic executive to lead a well-established dental laboratory through its next phase of growth. This role, contingent upon a successful acquisition, can be structured either as a CEO or COO position. The successful candidate will not only manage the traditional responsibilities of a senior executive in the dental lab industry but will also drive a targeted value creation plan. In addition, should this deal not proceed, similar leadership opportunities exist within our broader pipeline of dental lab investments.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership & Vision:
- Develop and execute a long-term strategic plan that drives growth, profitability, and market share expansion.
- Articulate a clear vision for the company’s future, integrating both traditional executive duties and a focused value creation agenda.
- Value Creation Execution:
- Lead and implement a robust value creation plan, leveraging our strengths—such as advanced digital technologies (3D printing, digital scanning, CAD/CAM systems)—to enhance operational performance and profitability.
- Identify and pursue opportunities for operational improvement, cost efficiency, and revenue growth.
- Operational Oversight:
- Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring exceptional quality control, efficient production processes, and strict adherence to industry standards.
- Maintain operational excellence across manufacturing, customer service, and quality assurance functions.
- Financial Management:
- Collaborate with the finance team to monitor financial performance, manage budgets, and achieve EBITDA and revenue targets.
- Develop financial strategies that balance cost control with investment in technology and operational enhancements.
- Business Development & Market Expansion:
- Expand the customer base by cultivating relationships with both solo dental practices and larger dental service organizations (DSOs).
- Develop and execute new business initiatives to increase market share and strengthen the company’s competitive position.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Serve as the primary spokesperson for the company, fostering strong relationships with employees, customers, suppliers, and the board.
- Manage communications during the acquisition and post-transition phases to ensure a seamless integration process.
- Organizational Leadership:
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing executive team.
- Cultivate a company culture that encourages innovation, accountability, and excellence in service delivery.
- Compliance & Regulatory Oversight:
- Ensure that the organization complies with all applicable regulations, quality standards, and industry best practices.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and technological advancements to maintain a competitive edge.
- Acquisition Transition Management:
- Collaborate closely with current ownership during the transitional phase following the acquisition to ensure continuity and stability.
- Lead initiatives that align the organization with its post-acquisition strategic goals.
Qualifications
- Experience:
- Proven executive experience (CEO, COO, or Senior Leadership role) within the dental lab, healthcare, or related manufacturing/medical device sectors.
- Demonstrated success in leading organizational growth, transformational change, or turnaround initiatives.
- Industry Knowledge:
- Deep understanding of the dental laboratory landscape, including familiarity with digital technologies such as CAD/CAM, 3D printing, and digital scanning.
- Experience with regulatory compliance and quality control in a healthcare or dental setting.
- Financial Acumen:
- Strong background in managing P&L, budgeting, and financial forecasting.
- Ability to drive financial performance and cost efficiencies while managing growth investments.
- Leadership & Communication:
- Exceptional strategic, operational, and people management skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Educational Background:
- MBA or an equivalent advanced degree preferred.
- Professional certifications related to healthcare management or operations are a plus.
- Additional Attributes:
- Experience with mergers, acquisitions, or post-acquisition integrations is highly desirable.
