Job Summary
The Assistant General Manager plays a key role in directing and managing a rendering facility, taking charge of operations in the absence of the General Manager. This may involve overseeing one or more areas of plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in overall plant operation and assume responsibility for a major area when necessary.
- Contribute to annual budget development.
- Recruit, select, and orient new employees, as well as develop and discipline established staff.
- Maintain quality control by monitoring lab analysis and taking corrective action as needed.
- Promote professional relationships with customers and resolve issues or concerns.
- Optimize route efficiency and identify opportunities for increased productivity.
- Process corporate invoices and ensure authorized payments.
- Under the General Manager's direction, obtain certifications for projects such as Bio-security, HACCP, and lead the Company's Safety Program.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED.
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field or 5 years of equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a production/manufacturing setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational and mechanical/administrative abilities.
- Able to lead and give/take direction.
