What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dog Welfare Technician position at Darlington County Humane Society?
Darlington County Humane Society is a non-profit organization with the mission of promoting humane care of dogs and cats in Darlington County. Our goal is to care for abandoned and neglected animals and increase community awareness of animal welfare needs.
This position contributes to saving the lives of stray and abandoned animals in Darlington County.
Expected Work Schedule
- Monday 7:00 AM-4:00PM
- Tuesdays 7:00AM - 4:00PM
- Wednesday 7:00AM-4:00PM
- Thursday 7:00AM-4:00PM
- Fridays 7:00AM - 4:00PM
- Saturdays 7:00AM - 4:00PM (At least 2 Saturdays per Month)
- Sundays 7:00AM- 4:00PM
- Additional shifts may be available
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Cleaning & maintenance of dog living spaces
- Feeding & watering of dogs
- Medicating dogs
- Cleaning & maintenance of animal care equipment
- Assisting with dog adoptions
Physical Requirements:
The ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) is essential for this role, as occasional assistance with moving supplies and equipment may be required.
