Role Summary:
The Accounting Specialist, Student Organizations role plays a critical part in the financial operations of Dartmouth College. This position ensures the timely and accurate processing of all financial transactions for departmental and student organization accounts, while also providing guidance to student organizations on financial transactions and account management. The successful candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, with excellent communication and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Facilitate the processing of all financial transactions for departmental and student organization accounts through regular communication with internal and external constituents;
Review monthly financial transactions for accuracy and prepare corrections and reports as necessary;
Provide guidance to student organizations on financial transactions and account management, and help navigate relevant College processes and policies;
Maintain the Student Organization Financial Procedures Guide and the 'Treasurer's Corner' document resource and website;
Requirements:
Associate's degree with business or accounting courses, or the equivalent combination of education and experience;
~2-3 years financial experience, working in a higher-education setting preferred;
~ Accuracy with numbers and accounting;
~ Ability to prioritize, balance competing demands and meet deadlines in a busy office environment with frequent interruptions;
~ Desire to learn and utilize computer applications and processes that help to continuously improve office effectiveness and systems;
~ Commitment to diversity and to serving the needs of a diverse population;
