We are seeking a Senior Compensation Analyst to join Dartmouth Health’s Compensation team, providing support for staff roles across the system.
Our ideal candidate will have previous experience in healthcare and/or working for a large organization (with 20,000 employees), possess extensive experience with market analysis, and have advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
The Senior Compensation Analyst participates in the development, implementation, and administration of compensation programs, which include job documentation and evaluation, salary administration, and performance management, contributing to the attraction, retention, motivation, and reward of employees.
This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week, fully remote benefited position, working Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. This role requires working hours aligned with the Eastern Time Zone, regardless of location.

Responsibilities
- Leads compensation projects from start to finish, using complex financial analyses and modeling to provide data-driven insights and recommendations to leadership. Ensures a standardized approach across system members.
- Serves as liaison to HR leaders across the system, providing analytical and program support, ensuring equity across all system members and programs.
- Conducts job analysis to classify jobs and establish job descriptions. Ensures results are communicated to appropriate parties. Oversees the maintenance of the job description database, updating the job descriptions to include all pertinent information.
- Ensures effective benchmarking process and data integrity of surveys, job matching, market pricing, and compensation structures. Evaluates year over year market trend lines for jobs to determine compensation trends.
- Establishes equitable salary rates and ranges within the organization as compared to the labor market and peer organizations utilizing DH compensation philosophy, job analysis, and survey processes and makes recommendations regarding changes based on best practices and industry standards.
- Establishes and updates compensation tools for market reviews, compensation structures, and budgeting. Implements efficiencies in tracking and reporting.
- Assists in reviewing compensation policies and practices, consistent with operational needs and ensures compliance with legal requirements. Provides training to D-H leaders to ensure compliance and consistency throughout the organization.
- Prepares and presents to HR management analysis and reports concerning compensation issues.
- Assists in the creation and delivery of compensation training materials.
- Ensures the delivery of compensation services in conjunction with other Human Resources services.
- Participates in the enhancement of Human Resources Information Systems in order to achieve maximum utilization of available technology in support of compensation processes.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in economics, Finance, Business Administration, or another closely related field. Six years of experience in compensation program design and administration are required.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, including building analyses and models required. Proficiency with other Microsoft Office products also required.
- Must have in-depth knowledge of compensation theory, techniques, and applicable laws that govern the function.
- Strong analytical skills, project management skills, and exceptional attention to detail are required.
- Comfortability solving complex and ambiguous problems.
- Proven written, verbal, and communication skills are required.
