Utility Person

• POSITION STANDARDS
  • Must be able to read par stock lists, menus and chemical labels.
• POSITION PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Anything listed here requires a pre-employment physical by Employee Health to determine if the employee is capable of meeting the requirements.
    • Physical Activity:
    • Frequently lifts objects of up to 50 pounds, i.e. dishes or food items.
    • Upper Extremity:
    • Must be able to work in warm and humid environment (sometimes exceeding 100°F) as well as walk-in coolers and freezers.
    • Must be able to push/pull tray delivery trucks and food carts.
    • Push/Pull/Lift/Carry:
    • The position requires the employee to be standing or walking 80% of each day worked.
• PART TWO: FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITY

    Position Objective
    • Assists in maintaining a clean and sanitary work area and assists cooks as needed.

  •  

    Performance Expectation
    • Performs assigned cleaning duties.
      • Daily duties include: -thoroughly sweep and mop kitchen floors
    • Keeps storage areas neat and orderly.
    • Stock shelves, rotating and dating inventory.
    • Participates on the evening meal and clean up.
    • Operates dish machine following the meal.
    • Assists co-workers in a variety of duties, i.e. cleaning, food preparation, special functions.
