Overview
Responsible for the effective management of food service operations for Food and Nutrition Services.
Responsibilities
Establishes, implements, and enforces policies and procedures such as: institutional policies and procedures, State regulations, The Joint Commission, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
Helps establish and enforce budget requirements within the department.
Coordinates activities of Managers and Supervisors; maintains and strives for optimal intra-departmental communications and understanding among Nutrition Services, Clinical Nutrition Services, Patient Dietary Services and the Dining Room.
Contributes to the development and revision of patient and dining room menus.
Provides direction to Managers and Supervisors relative to employee related issues, departmental policies and procedures and general personnel policies.
Coordinates and conducts departmental educational programs and patient education programs for staff.
Supervises functions and procedures as they relate to other departments, ensuring optimal programs.
Manages the departmental quality assessment and improvement program.
Supervises assigned personnel. Selects, counsels, prepares performance evaluations, and terminates according to policy.
Performs other duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications
B.S. Degree in Food Service Management or equivalent.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required.
